Who's WhoJosh Lefkowitz's first full-length monologue, titled HELP WANTED: A Personal Search for Meaningful Employment at the Start of the 21st Century, has played at CENTERSTAGE (Baltimore), Woolly Mammoth Theatre Company (Washington, DC), Dixon Place (New York), Access Theater/Blue Coyote (New York), The Tank (New York), Single File Festival (Chicago), and the Inaugural Capital Fringe Festival (Washington, DC), as well as at several universities including Yale University and The University of Michigan. Josh was an Associate Artist at the Atlantic Center for the Arts, where he created work under the mentorship of actor/writer Eric Bogosian. He has also collaborated numerous times with performance artist Holly Hughes, including on After A Fashion, an original piece that was remounted at the Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum in NYC. His short plays have been performed at Madcap Players (Washington, DC) and Illusion Theater (Minneapolis). As an actor, he has worked with Playwrights Horizons, NY Stage & Film, Actors Theatre of Louisville, Woolly Mammoth, CENTERSTAGE, Signature Theatre, Arena Stage, Olney Theatre, and others. His stories and poems have been published in various journals online and in print, and he has recorded personal essays for NPR’s All Things Considered. Josh received a Young Artist grant from the DC Commission on the Arts & Humanities, the Avery Hopwood Award for Poetry at the University of Michigan, and was selected as one of NY’s Best Emerging Jewish Performers. Josh's second monologue — NOW WHAT? — was commissioned by Woolly Mammoth Theatre Company, and has been workshopped at Dixon Place and The Kennedy Center.
